Other Things I Do

Woodworker, Baker, Candlestick-Maker.

Okay, the last one’s not true. Or at least, not yet. I could make candlesticks on the lathe.

Before starting Giddy Up Woodcraft, I was a camp counselor, a teacher, and an assistant principal here in Denver. Now, I split my time between woodworking, tutoring, and being a good friend, brother, and son. You can learn more below, and if you/someone you know needs tutoring, wants to learn how to run a D&D game, or is looking for advice about creating a fun, somewhat-successful dating profile, I’m your guy.

Tutoring

Long story short: I was a teacher turned assistant principal turned woodworker. And I have to admit that after leaving schools in June 2020, I quickly missed working with kids.

I currently tutor a host of students in the Denver area. They are mostly in middle and high school, and I tutor in subjects ranging from math and biology to english and standardized test prep. If you have/are/know a student who benefit from tutoring, shoot me an email—I’d love to help out.

Friends

No prerogative here. I just have a lot of great friends. They are smart, hilarious, and for the most part, kind. In the Beforetimes, we’d get together often. Now, we play D&D and have an ongoing Survivor fantasy league. So, i guess, I take that back. I do have a perogative. Email me if you want to talk about Survivor. I’ve watched an ungodly amount of Survivor in the past six months.

And: call your friends. They’d love to hear from you.

The Future

Well-meaning people keep asking me when I’m planning to find a new job. I tell them to take a ticket and have a seat.

In truth, though, I tell them that I love woodworking and that I will keep doing it until someone offers me my dream job. So if you, or your friend, of your aunt Shelia’s old accountant’s daughter runs an artist collective/camp with a pizza chef, a distiller, and an escape room designer, please reach out.

To the left here is my resume. If you are looking for collaborators or employees, contact me. I’d love to talk!
